How to Open Your Invite Link
Audience: Contributors ā people invited by a family member or organizer to share memories about a collection of photos or documents.
Someone in your family or circle has put together a collection of old photos or documents and would like your help identifying the people, places, and stories in them. They have sent you a special link to do that. This article walks you through what to expect when you open it.
What You'll Need
- The invite link (usually a web address like
https://zeuge.io/c/abc123xyz) - A phone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection
- A modern web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge ā any will work)
You do not need to:
- Create an account
- Download an app
- Remember a password
Step 1 ā Click or Tap the Link
Open the link the same way you would open any website. You can:
- Tap it if it arrived in a text message or email on your phone
- Click it in your email on a computer
- Copy and paste it into your browser's address bar

Step 2 ā The Welcome Screen
When the page loads, you will see a welcome screen that greets you by name, for example:
"Hello, Carol!"
Below your name you'll see:
- The title of the collection (e.g., "Johnson Family Photos ā 1960sā1990s")
- A short description from the organizer, if they added one
- A note from the organizer ā a personal message or prompt, such as "Please share anything you remember about the people and places in these photos."
- A strip of small photo thumbnails so you can preview what's in the collection

Step 3 ā Choose How You'd Like to Share Your Memories
At the bottom of the welcome screen, you'll see two buttons:
| Button | Best For |
|---|---|
| Voice Narration | People who prefer to speak naturally ā "just talk about the photos" |
| Write Your Memories | People who prefer to type, or who are in a quiet environment |
Both options let you share your memories about the same photos. Choose whichever feels most comfortable.

Step 4 ā Privacy & What Happens Next
Before you start, here's what you should know about your privacy:
- Your responses are private. Only the person who invited you can see what you share.
- Nothing is posted publicly. Zeuge is a private family archive, not a social network.
- You don't need to share everything. You can skip photos you don't recognize or don't want to comment on. There is no pressure to fill out every single item.
The page will show a note at the bottom that says: "Your memories are only shared with the person who invited you."
Common Questions
What if the link says "expired"? The organizer may have set an expiration date on your invite. Contact the person who sent you the link and ask them to send a new one.
What if I get an error or the page doesn't load? Try refreshing the page or opening it in a different browser. Make sure you copied the entire link.
What if I accidentally close the page? No problem ā just open the same link again. Your session is saved in your browser, so you can pick up where you left off. See Resuming Your Session for more detail.
What if I don't recognize any of the photos? That's completely fine. You can skip items you don't know anything about, or just describe what you see. Every detail helps.
